The Swan Nest

A Wellington Charity providing children with therapy, support and advocacy.

The Swan Nest endeavours to facilitate a compassionate, caring, loving and nurturing environment for children and families on their journey with their child living with a complex health condition or terminal illness.

One of the hardest parts about being a parent or family member of a child suffering is watching that child go through something really tough and not be able to fix it. Here at The Swan Nest we recognise certain aspects cannot be ‘fixed,’ but the journey can be altered; translated into one of hope, empowerment and resilience.

As Wellington’s first dedicated service of it’s kind, we are 100% community funded.

When a child is diagnosed or born with a life changing complex health condition, we are here to help navigate the journey no parent ever expected to be on with their child. From the day their life weaves through a new road until the day they feel they no longer need our services we are here for them.

Our therapies are there to support your journey, to create an environment filled with hope, compassion, understanding and to help make the life of your child and siblings enriched through play, music, art and physical therapy.

Our therapies don’t stop at the children, we understand the importance of supporting, nurturing and providing counselling and advocacy for the parent’s and other significant adults in the child’s life. Alongside the children, the adults will be wrapped under our wings.

He aroha, he tautoko me te haumanu mō te whānau katoa.
